India will visit Sri Lanka in July-August for a white-ball tour featuring three T20Is and three ODIs.
India has appointed Suryakumar Yadav as the captain of the men’s T20I team for their upcoming tour of Sri Lanka later this month. Shubman Gill will serve as the vice-captain for both the T20I and ODI squads.
The T20I squad features several prominent players returning after the Zimbabwe series:
Jasprit Bumrah has been rested, while Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will participate in the ODIs.
India’s white-ball tour of Sri Lanka will be the first assignment for Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach, following Rahul Dravid’s departure after leading India to victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. This tour marks India’s first bilateral series in Sri Lanka since 2021.
This tour signifies a new chapter for India’s T20I team, moving away from the era of veterans:
All three retired from T20Is after their World Cup triumph.
